The above taxied in and turned to face the crowd wing tip to wing tip. Stopped, chocks in and then all advanced throttles to about half power all together and ran like that for a couple of minutes and then all chopped to cut off at the same time. The noise………………..
What can I report?
Fly bys, lower than the UK. Flying direct at the crowd, but not crossing the crowd line. 75% of aircraft did a gear, flaps and if they had one, speed brake out/down slow speed flyby at about 50 feet.
Great selection of aircraft. Unlike Duxford, a flight line walk costs, if memory serves about 8 pounds. Here the aircraft are positioned so that you can get up and close without the need to pay to go through the fence. The DC3 and Ju52 where open to visits. Apart from a lunch break, we where in France after all, there was no pause in the flying from 09:30 until 18:55.
Cost 26 Euros, including parking and a program (take note Duxford!!!!!)
Camping cost me 12 Euros for 2 nights. Toilets, needless to say where “French”
Parking, in and out in 20 minutes. More police directing traffic than I have ever seen. Very well done.
Rip off factor……NONE!!!!!
Food and drink was priced at a normal cost. I.E. a beer cost no more than in a local pub. Burger, same as the local burger bar. Ice cream, same as the local supermarket. Badges, models and the usual air display assortment of “stuff”, cost in Euros what you would pay in pounds in the UK.
If you can make it out to Ferte-Alais, do it. You will not be disappointed. Just do not decide to travel on a Friday afternoon through Paris……..4 hours to travel 20 kilometres.

It is a Bank Holiday here in Germany, pictures end of the week. Sorry, I am a wet film man.

PS Does anyone know the airfield code for Aerodrome de Cerny-La Ferte-Alais or if it is even in FS9?

Were any parachutists attached?
Sounds like a nice show. I like the idea of a slower paced yet longer show...
Interesting logic to fly the very old stuff mid afternoon. At OW they do it at the end of the day, when the wind is most likely to be calm. Very surprising considering the show went on so late...

Having been to OW and seen how it is done, I was a little surprised at that too. I would have really liked to have seen the Cauldron fly.

Go to: les aéroclubs - recherche d'un aéroclub and put Ferte in the field "Ville de l'aérodrome"

Thanks for finding the airport code Omag, shame that FS9 does not have this little strip in its data base. It is a plateau airport and some "real life“ approaches looked "interesting"
