I have completed the basic wellington that I am building and I am currently trying to add textures.

Using the Stupid Idiots guide I have successfully managed to apply the basic wireframe texture map to the starboard upper wing.  Having then exported the model to FS9 the whole wing is just a plain and dull grey.  My texture isn't there!  How do I get it to show up in the sim?

It's been a while since I textured in Gmax, but this is an FS9 issue (I think)..

The texture HAS TO BE binary in dimension (128, 256, 512, 1024). It doesn' have to be square (512 x 512  or  1024 x 1024), but length and width have to be one of those numbers (1024 x 512  or  256 x 128, etc.)

It also HAS to be either an 8-bit or extended (DXT3 for reflections) format. Many textures that will show up in Gmax or FSDS will not in FS9.

Thanks Brett.

I have made the texture using 24 bit format, it is 1024*1024.  I have applied it in GMax and then converted it in Dxtbmp to DXT3.  It still refuses to show up. This is driving me more insane than I was to start with.
