BGL crashing FS9 (Read 357 times)

I'm by no means a beginner to AI, but this is the first time I've tried adding traffic manually in a while.

When I compile my BGL for traffic at RAF Coltishall, and enable it in FS9, it crashes the sim on startup. I've never had this problem before, adding it with a PAI installer, or manually. I dunno whether it just doesn't like the BGL, or whether I've got something wrong in one of the text files.

Spot anything fishy in there? I would expect it to be the flight plans if anything, but I'm not sure. (Note, there is no space in the times of the TNGs, that's just how it's copied for some reason).

Any help would be appreciated Smiley

Thanks.

I hope we can be of help:

It's rare that a traffic_file.bgl contains errors because TTools won't Compile if errors are detected. My first-choice for causing this problem would be a corrupted AFCAD2 fiel(s).

You've compiled nine aircraft when in fact there's only one: Jaguar 6 Squadron

As noted, my attention would be directed to EGXC and EGYC AFCAD2 files (try replacing the active AF2 with default AF2 files for testing -- presuming they have adequate parking). Eliminate the redundant aircraft.
Good Luck.

Thanks wji, but I think a system restore did the trick! Or it was Holger Sandmann's scenery mesh that was buggering up my sim... had a few problems since I installed that. Whichever it was, the removal of the mesh or the system restore, it seems to work now (well at least not crash on start up). Let's see if the flightplans work!

They don't ^^

I'll try some of the things you said, then! Tongue

Now they do! Crisis over! Smiley

Good to hear you're flying again. I made a mistake on the circuit height so forget about that part  Kiss That's the enroute altitude (the circuit height is in the AF2 file)

Just finished compiling a traffic file using your above segments. One TTools error, simply an errant space(s).

Had to change ac as I dont have that one. The redundant ac's did not cause any problem, although not necessary.

Had to add parking to default airports.

Flightplans appears to be working fine, at least for the few minutes I watched them.

Check your TNG arrival times.  It appears their gonna TNG for 22 1/2 hrs at EGYC before returning to  EGXC?   Wink  Maybe that's your intention.  Smiley

Nope, it should be a one hour round circuit, there and back!

These are my current flight plans;

AC#1,250,"Jaguar 6 Squadron 90th Anniversary"

AC#1,XZ400,10%,24Hr,VFR,11:00:00,11:29:05,050,R,1000,EGXC,12:00:00,TNG11:30:00,0

10,R,1017,EGYC

They're showing up at the airport, but aren't moving anywhere. From what I've put in, I'm expecting the first two to take off (or start taxying) at EGYC (Coltishall) at 11am, TnG until 11:30 at EGXC (Coningsby), then return and land at 12pm back at EGYC... which is not what I'm getting! (Remember the spaces in the TnG times are not there in the actual file)

I've never had this much trouble before!

Ok, after more tinkering, I think it's finally working Tongue Thanks everyone Smiley

Here's how I read it:

Start EGYC
Depart for EGXC at 11:00>Arrive and land EGXC at 11:29.
At EGXC
Depart for EGYC at 12:00>Arrive at EGYC and do TNG until 11:30.....

Because your on a 24hr repeat, and because 11:30 today is earlier than 12:00 today, the sim (or the compile) will push 11:30 to the next day. Thus you'll do TNG until your scheduled departure to EGXC, 11:00.  (The overlapping times can also cause problems, check the TNG section in the help file)

Hope that makes sense   Tongue

Hmm.. sort of Tongue

Mind writing it out how it should be? Smiley

Depart EGYC - 11:00am
Arrive at EGXC - TnG til 11:30 (with NO full stop landing)
Fly back to EGYC - Arrive at whatever time, I've just got it as 12:00.

You see, I can only really create extremely basic flightplans Tongue
