Well, the only thing I can suggest is reinstalling Gmax and then making sure you set up the folder correctly.  If you are in need of it, I can zip mine up and send it to you direct via email.

Also, if you are using Middleman or MDLCommander, disable them both and use the simple MakeMDL supplied by Microsoft.

After you have all that done, try exporting a simple object (like a cube) into an aircraft file from a blank Gmax document.  I've found that sometimes the setup from another person's computer, or how they've set up Gmax, can interfere with the export process.

Cheer up, there's always a solution!

Locke Im aware of that,Thanks buddy, Im using only the fs9 Gmax version that is inside of it and ,Gmax software developmet kit that Microsoft . com give us free
BTW Im really use 3d studio max 5 wich doen't bug about the _interior and _exterior fusion exporting into a *.X but the problem seems to be the Bus in my old harware sys. a P3-800Mhz,I ve done couple of planes very simple with a VC as a test, and when export it,it does well, but now I try in Gmax a real model complex detailed and my computer hangs,I realy don't know why I hope is not because my old machine Cry Cry Cry

This is the most likely reason. I expect Milton's models are very complex which takes a lot of processor power & virtual memory to compile. Try it with a simpler model.

PS. I often had a similar problem with my old machine. I couldn't even open some source files in Gmax/FSDS, never mind work on or export them.

The Dash 7 on my old computer required 25 minutes to compile/export.  I believe it takes about 2-3 minutes on my current unit.  So, the computer may not be hung but simply busy compiling.  On older units, you must be patient. Smiley  The D18S would have been a better choice to try.

LOL That's great that you then do not have a problem.  Now, go forth and export. Smiley
