Hi all,
I wondered if anyone else had noticed this.
I've just got back into fs2002 after a while, and i planned a flight from palma mallorca to madrid. When i was approaching the airport and locked onto both glideslope and localizer, i noticed that they were nowhere near in line with the runway. (36R.. i think).
I don't have any 3rd party scenery added in that region.
I've searched the forum and found nothing relating to it.
Does this happen anywhere else in fs? Or is it something wrong with my installation?

Any comments appreciated.

FS is notorious for misplaced ILS' (I've shared one story of flying into Portland in low visibility and landing on the taxiway numerous times) Considering the number of airports, MS is bound to mess up a few here and there.  So basically, it is a game problem, not an installation problem.

And welcome to simv Wink

It may not help but it won't hurt to run the BGL scanner - about halfway down the page here http://www.simviation.com/fs2002utilities_gen5.htm

I tried a couple of landings at 36R at Barajas and the ILS is slightly screwed up.

- The VOR/DME at 116.45 doesn't work at all.

- The glideslope will bring you down perfectly at the opposite end of the runway.  The localizer is only off by a couple of degrees, probably because it's trying to line you up to hit the ground in the wrong place.

Could it just be an offset ILS? Someone might be able to better go into the details of them.

I don't think that is the case here.
There are offset ils in fs, i remember one in the alps that i used to try and land at. But that was offset cos of the mountains.
Besides, the glideslope lands you beyond the runway, and there would be no need for that anywhere i don't think.

No i haven't tried that.
Will try it if i find another instance of this.
I just picked a different runway at Madrid and that was ok.
Thanks for the tip.
