what board and chipset you got. If you go to there site they would have specific instuctions on yours. Be careful though.  Mine was simply downloading a file putting it on to a floppy and following the instuctions. But first thing is too find your bios version Check your board maual or try belarc advisor If you reboot and look carefully you'll see it right before the windows loading screen be quick you might have to reboot several time to catch it. Then google it and go to there site and follow there instuction Its not hard just follow the instuctions EXCACTLY!

yes, you need to go to your computer company website and search the support area for YOUR EXACT model. i'ts like i can't use a gateway BIOS on a dell.

here's another question to go along with this.

how do you update your BIOS if you don't have a floppy?

As said if you dont have a problem dont mess with BIOS updates as if they go wrong you cuold find yourself PC-less until you purchase a new BIOS chip (Worst case scenario there!)

I have only ever flashed BIOS when I really needed too.  Done it 5 or 6 times now and so far have had no problems.  As everyone has said Ensure you flash with the correct BIOS though.
