Hey, anybody know of an online store where I can get some affoardable LED lights for under the panel trim in a piper I'm building. I also need something to sufice as a dome light. One problem, I am not a master electrician, so I need simple wiring ???.

Thanks,
-Ben Serres

Try a dome light frome a car, or one of those "tap-lights". you dont need to be a master electrician to wire up either of those. Everything in a car is 12 volt (correct me if Im wrong) so all you need is a 12 volt AC adapter, or one of those universal ones.

Try radio shack for LEDs, I think you can also order them from their website.

benbo3001,

Try a Google search for "led" and "discount" or something like that.

Radio Shack does sell numerous led units..... many for 12V DC with the dropping resistor built in.  RS is not cheap though....... a single 12V w resistor is a couple of bucks.

Tacitblue is on the right track.... lots of automotive stuff is easily adapted for simpit use.

I use an old ham radio 8 amp regulated 12V DC power supply for all the 12V supply needs in my pit.  8A will drive a LOT of stuff  Wink.  An old CB power supply.,....which is more like 1 or 2 amps........  is likely more than adequate.

best,

also those littel tap lights that they sell in K-Mart work well as dome lights.
