Thanks for the concorde link.  Lots of downloads and all installations in French  ???  (Didn't do french at school and still don't lol) Couldn't install some due to no texture folder and the manuel wouldn't download so I will fly tonight and see how it handles.

Thanks.

I haven't tried this Concorde but these things are usually easy enough to figure out. Did you check out the install instructions on the website? http://www.fsfrance.com/Projets/Mach2/Install_en.htm They're in perfectly legible English. In fact they're much easier to understand than some of the posts I see in this forum.

No website was excellent, couldn't download manuel for panel and when actually installing (Self install) all in french.  One part asked to find the concorde texture folder but there was none there (For night texture add ons)

Have just finished installing an extra pannel for sounds and visuals from the cockpit
" FlightDeck Sound Effects Panel for FS2004 By Marcus Thompson "

Will try it later as I am installing and cleaning computer.

Well I have tried to install this concorde, which looks and sounds impressive, jet I have tried 2 ways to install and cannot get to see anyhting in the cocpit  Sad

I followed a link to "Avisim" but you need to be a member to download the "Basic" pannel.  I have tried direct install (Self installing files) and I have installed to dummy folder but no panel shows up and only external textures. .  .  just had a thought, it is the pannels and not gauges that are causing the problem... I think.  If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it, especially as this thread is supposed to be photos and not installion guide... sorry but if someone looked at the screen shots I have on my site (Didn't know if I could put them on here temp so have them on my own site) then they might be able to suggest somthing.

www.ubntfp.co.uk/splash/index1.html

I tried what you suggested Haggar and I even made panel and texture folders and still no luck.  I'm not thick and have installed over 2.4gig on FS2002 and 2.7gig on Fs2004, of planes.  (I know, it does run a little slow but they are on seperate hard drives (Have 5 drives)).

I must be missing somthing very obvious here but cannot see what it is.

Here are the files I downloaded:-

PM2C_V2_BA03.exe (BA2003 colours)
PM2C_V2_BA70.exe (BA1970 colours)
PM2C_V2_BA80.exe (BA1980 colours)
PM2C_V2_COMMON_TEXTURES.exe
PM2C_V2_V2_BASE_FS9.exe  (Main base install)
PM2C_V2_SOUND.exe
PM2C_V2_NIGHT_TEXTURES_PRO.exe
ZIP File FDEFS2004  (After burner effects)
ZIP File MANUEL_PANEL

(The manuel is a description of the cockpit panel and icons)

Yet in the notes it says :-

·      Download Common textures, which are for all planes.
·      Be careful, you have to put attention to this step. In order to reduce Download timing and bandwidth, we have pu all the general textures in a same pack. These textures are for inside, VC etc… now you have to put these textures in all the texture folders.
·      When you start install program, the question is where do you have to decompile textures ? Indicate the path for each Airlines textures for example c:\program files\microsoft games\fs9\aircraft\PM2-Concorde-FS9\texture.vir ;In this case, textures will be decompiled in the Virgin directory.
·      Do this for all the textures and airlines you have.
·      Night Textures : same as general textures. You can download one or two packs and make your choice. Then install them in the airlines textures folders

Now first its asking you to make a file called texture.???  example being .vir, I have not found any of these so I carried on yet it asks me to make a folder called textures.  Getting very lost here and this is taking up a lot of the wrong post so sorry but please...  I just want a compatable concorde for FS2004...... am I asking mission impossible or just very thick??  (Retorical question Smiley  )

If I may add a "P.S." to this,

I tried to respond this morning (Sunday) and yet a lot of pages kept saying they were under construction with a camofluage green background.  Shocked   Very strange

Uncertain as to the times of this forum so I submitted this at 02:14am GMT Monday morning

As I mentioned previously I haven't tried this Concorde. I would check it out for you if it didn't involve such large downloads. This might be different if I wanted a Concorde for my own use. Other members here speak very highly of this particular Concorde so I'm sure there's not much wrong with it. Before trying all those texture variations I suggest you get one basic version up & working properly first. If this is a self-install package you shouldn't need to mess around creating folders. That would make the whole thing pointless & it should install itself if you do it correctly.

To download files from Avsim you have to sign on. This is free & takes only a few moments.

I think you're misreading the instructions. I assume the example (texture.vir) will be installed by the Virgin Airlines texture package. Without seeing the files I suspect the various texture folders should be there if you install everything in the correct order.

This site & the forums are open 24/7. A lot of people including me had problems accessing the site yesterday. I doubt very much that the problems were connected with this site. Fortunately all seems back to normal now.

PS. From your shots you have the base package installed correctly. According to the instructions the textures have been split to reduce file sizes. I assume you install the various texture variations as you wish. If I'm reading it correctly you would first install the variation itself, let's say the Virgin Airline livery. This should automatically create a subfolder in your PM2-Concorde folder named Texture.vir containing the Virgin textures. The Common Textures & Night Textures will need installing to all variations of the aircraft after they have been installed. In this case point the install path to the Texture.vir folder. You will need to repeat this for all variations you have. I hope this explains it.

Very helpful I'm sure. Roll Eyes Unless I'm missing something this seems to follow on logically from the original topic which I note hasn't been moved. It's very difficult to figure out which forum it should be in anyway. Let's try & get it sorted out before worrying which forum it should be in.

This is not the sort of welcome for a newcomer I would expect here at SimV.

I know that I started in the wrong forum but I would rather mess up in one place than two!  Smiley

I think I will uninstall concorde and start again, doing one install at a time and then running FS.

I have got the hang of the picture downloads now as can bee seen in freeware unedited shots (Learjet 45) At least I have got somthing right!  lol  (Thanks for your help Haggar)

Always have a good time and leave Simviation feeling happy and satisfied, its good to fly  Grin

Thanks once again guys......keep on flying

It was meant as a friendly joke (I hoped the emoticons would make it clear). I'm sorry you took it as an ill-mannered welcome to our pal. My apologises.

FridayChild. Sorry if my comments appeared harsh. They were not aimed at anyone in particular. This thread didn't start off too well & yours seemed to be in danger of starting it all over again. This has always been a friendly forum & beginners are always welcome. It's fine to joke around once they get used to our ways. You have to admit that we must seem a strange bunch of people to others not used to our ways. Wink

ubntfp., I'm delighted you like it here & did not take offence. I hope you get that Concorde sorted out. It's a tad more complicated to install than most & not the ideal aircraft to start with. It might be a better idea to install a few other aircraft first until you get used to the basic principles. Take things in easy stages & you will soon get the hang of it. I'm sure most people here would have no problems installing it.
