hi all

does anybody know of a way to make a true VTOL aircraft.

I am working on a Whispercraft from the 6th day and cant figure any way to get the vertical lift.

also if anyone can give me any pointers on how to animate the rotors when they are in the helicopter configuration

thanks for any help

The short answer is - you can't get "true" VTOL operation (as in a Harrier aircraft) versus a helicopter based model.

It's not a modelling limitation as much as it is a limitation of the MS Flight Simulator program itself.

Yep, true. You either have to use helicopter dynamics (but then it acts like a helicopter all the time) or you have to distort the thrust/drag/lift characteristics in the .air and .cfg files so that you get a very short take off indeed (not quite vertical) and an almost vertical landing.
