Im thinking about getting me some rudder pedals but they are insanely expensive, starting @ $98 bucks because only CH products makes them (don't kow what happened to thrustmaster) .

So im thinking of getting some old one off ebay but there are a lot of gameport Peddals for a lot less then the USB ones.
Is there a reason for that?
Are Gameport Peddals any good?
Any type of compatibility issues or anything that would cause them to be sold at such a low price?
I have a gameport but do they work with windows Xp?

Thanks in advance

Game port pedals have some limitations...and have fewer functions.

The newer USB pedals can be had with toe brakes (like a real plane) in addition to the rudder function.

GP pedals are harder on system resources, they require more frequent calibration, they may not work with all USB sticks and they may not be able to be assigned in all games as a second controller (USB pedals share this in poorly designed games).

My current, quite functional, GP pedals are on the way out as soon as I do my next comp upgrade in the next few months...USB pedals for me. Smiley

Do they work with FS9 and CFS3?

My GP pedals have worked fine, with a GP stick, in all sims where I've tried them...including the two you mention.

They no longer work with my Saitek X45 USB HOTAS (I could tweak the drivers to make them work though)...but the new pedals go on just as soon as the new comp is finished. Smiley

Try the Logitech website and try http://www.stickworks.com for tweaks to make them work together...
