Well... a two month newbie DID try it...  Shocked

Didn't survey anything in advance.  Just turned and burned in my little stock 172.  Took me three corkscrews to get out (with some stall practice)... but I did get out... whew!   I will have to try it in a B37.

Then googled this site:
http://www.dangerous-airports.com/airports/s/sesm.htm

Thanks for the airport tip... throw any others out if you know of any.  The above website seems to have a few trick fields located.

Well I have made better landings, the 747 is easy to get out (it has plenty of thrust as you well know I bet), landing is a combination of low fuel weights, slow slow slow airspeed, lots of spoilers, and not worrying about burning up your brake pads. Ya, I'll get a few screenshots of it tonight. I post on here while doing those really long flights. About halfway between Hong Kong and Seattle right now in a Triple-7. The 747 will be my next thing, less I am really tired then I'll do it first thing tommorow morning. Wink

Does a little math* Yep in reality a 747 could take this landing. Painfully, and needing an inspection, so says Boeing, but it is certified to make them. However the runway is too short. But anyways, since you guys didn't believe me, here we go, shots.

Departure:
...
Touchdown:
...
Stopped: (with way too little runway left, didn't think I would make it, it's easier in default.)
...

If you want higher resolution pics, I'll send them too you (sorry quality was lost in packing them down to 800x600)

Cool screenshots 8)

Another good airfield is Carolina (FACL)

It's an airfield in the middle of a gorge. Right at the bottom (where the arrow's pointing) there is a flat section, it's fun to take a chopper in and out Grin
