I found a 3-view image of the aircraft that I'm
trying
to build in G-max 12.
I have cropped the 3 views in photoshop and ensured that they are all central and that the dimensions match:
The front view is 396*92 Pixels
Side view 292*92 Pixels
Top View 396*292 Pixels
When I load them into GMax the top and front views match but the side view is about twice as large as it should be and cannot be persuaded to fit in the box of the correct dimensions.
If anyone can tell me what I've done wrong I'd be grateful.

Assuming you're just setting the viewport image, I suggest you map the images to planes of the same dimensions....
i.e. map the front view to a plane in the "rear" view (K) of 396*92 units, the side to a plane of 292*92 units, etc.
Note that you can group these reference planes and "freeze" them once you've scaled everything properly (remember to uncheck the "show frozen in gray" box in the properties.
Basically, by having the images in their own obnject/planes, you can scale the planes correctly, and not have the viewports go nutty...

If you're talking about the FW190 tutorial from the 3DWorld Magazine at my aerodynamika.com site, it's better than the P-38, granted.
For mapping the planes, use the
Backgrounds
Tutorial from X_eidos.

Thanks, I will.
The Bitmaps are lined up now in two dimensions but not in the third. I had no worries with a fuselage cylinder but when I tried to put the wing on it was in completely the wrong place LOL.
