???  OK, here's the deal.  In 2000, it was really easy to add, for instance, Manuel Gonzalez's sound files to helicopters.  In 2002, if I try to add them there is no sound at all.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Am I just having a senior moment?  HELP!!!  It's making me psychotic.  Thanks.

Tomcat are you using the sound file in the aircraft folder, and adding the sounds (wav files) to the sound folder in the FS2002 root directory?

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

For instance, I'll DL a heli and try to use Manuel's sound wav's as well as his .cfg and .air files that come with the sound package.  I'll place them in the aircraft sound folder.  Usually, the aircraft doesn't show up but often it just doesn't have any sound at all.  I've tried using a 98 aircraft with his sound in it and aliasing the 2002 heli to the 98 sound but that doesn't work either.

You may need to convert the helis engine to a turboprop. In case you do not know how: open the aircraft.cfg file with notepad or wordpad (in notepad word wrap has to be on) Go to the [GeneralEngineData] line and where it says engine_type=3 make the 3 a 5.
I hope that helps.

&&&&That's right, I'm now using an AMD! I decided to give them another try and they kicked the pants off of my P4 3.4!
