Now that i've got gMAX 1.2 working again.( Big thanks to Woodlouse2002 and nwt Smiley ) i was wondering how to texture my models in this version of gmax. I know HOW to but they don't show up is what i mean. Well to be specific, everything on the model is gray instead of the texture(in Gmax). This seems like a simple problem and i just need someone to tell me how to make the textures show.

From what I understand - the format that you use to map the textures in gmax is NOT compatible with FS.  Make sure you convert the textures to one of the formats FS recognizes.

I would suggest that you "save as" 8-bit color (sure, it's a basic, no-reflections format, but you'd be surprised how many modellers use the "basic" to get the textures mapped right).

Anotherconsideration:
Make sure you've copied the textures to the correct folder (it happens more often than people will admit)

push m to bring up your material editor, selct your material, you should see a little box coloured blue and white (chekered grid) click it, your texture should show.
