This question is directed at all of you, and any suggestions are welcomed.

I basically want to find out what you want from a freeware aircraft. What features do you consider "must have's"? What features do you consider not to be important?

If you had to pick from this list, what would you most like to have?

F-15
F-16
F-117
A-10
EF-2000
SR-71
Cessna 185
DC-10
MD-11
B767

These are all the aircraft I have planned, and after a break (the 757 has really burnt me out), I plan to model again.

If the aircraft you want isn't in the list, suggest it.

Any ideas?

Ric B.

With the addition of FSDSv2 and Gmax, it would now be possible to make a really good SR-71.
BTW, I know what you mean about getting burned out. I stopped working on the YB-60 for a while cuz I was stuck on one part of it. I will get it going again soon and with any luck it will(might Cheesy) be out before...say 2005 Grin

I'd love to do an Antonov 225, they don't come any bigger/badder than that! I've had trouble finding info and good 3-view on that though.

John, would you be interested in doing a panel for my project?

I am active duty military, and a flight engineer on       CH-47D Chinook, and although I have downloaded the Royal AF chinook, I don't have the control on the nav, and radio equipment I would like. I want to be able to tune in freqs for ILS and VOR at the airport of my choice, maybe I dont know how to install the gauges properly on the model I have, but I sure would like some help. Thanks!!!!!

Hmm, now that is an interesting idea - a classic jetliner.

What do you think to a DC-8, or something of that vintage?

I'm trying to limit my options to aircraft I have good info on. I have a set of original blues for the DC-8 and DC-10.

I love DC-8 and all classic jetairliners!

but can U think about those classic golden era propliners? cos the ones that are avliable are not FSDS2 GMax models, kind of poor if U know what I mean, sure they're good but a lil aged...
what do you think?

Anyone ever wanted to fly a real bird?

Probably not the usual kind of request, but is it possible to make a bird that is flyable?  You know, like a sparrow or a seagull, or maybe even an albatross? Roll Eyes

I've been into the stranger types of aircraft available for downloads, but I have yet to see a true bird in the air.  Flying pigs I've seen, but not a single feathered friend to be found!

Is there one out there already, and if not, would you be interested in the designing of one?

Something Decent & Military.
Ric, your 757 is soo bloody good, but can we have something other than another airliner??? (please).
There are so many airliner models (that are really good) that its airliner ad-nauseum. Smiley
My vote would beEither the F-16, A-10 or C185!
If you want to do an airliner, my vote would be a propliner such as a DC6. I have a 1/4 finished DC6B that i am uninterested in finishing off, it has 64 sided fuselage etc - if you'd want the FSDS2 source file email me (Ric only) @ dave@aussim.com. Note i also have a 1% spreadsheet & generated airfile/aircraft.cfg to go with this too.

I actually meant the Cessna 185 in military markings - the RAAF used the C185 as both a FAC and Liason aircraft in Vietnam & until the late 1980's/early 1990's.

My thoughts also.

As much as I love airliners, I feel as though the "marketplace" has become over saturated. I guess we can't complain though huh?  Roll Eyes

If I were to do a C185, It would have to be the version with floats/wheels (in a Caravan style), as far as I'm aware, the military versions were all taildraggers?

This all brings us back to my gut feeling:- I want to do something different, something unusual. The fastest, the biggest, the oldest etc.

Only reason she died out was the advent of the 707.

I did have a poll at the top of this page, but I wasn't sure if it worked, so I deleted it. I have since discovered that I have to vote to be able to see the results. I'm not sure how everyone would feel about having to vote all over again.

Well, looks like decision time is here...

I've experimented at modelling the 225 nose section in FSDS, and it is really hard! The nose section itself has so many contours, plus I have to build in hinges for the opening nose....agrrrrrhhhh! Shocked

Maybe the SR-71 isn't such a bad idea after all  Wink
