Hi Folks,
I downloaded some mesh files made by someone named "Ray" and his contact info is no longer valid. He didn't state exactly where to place these .bgl files.

Though I'm not new to FSX at all, I always get a little confused when it comes to .bgl file placements because there are several places with folders named "Scenery" in the main FSX folder.

The ones I'm dealing with now are named 'srtxsam1 though 4' folders and among others, the first set cover the Caribbean and Central America.

So can anyone tell me where I am supposed to place these bgl files?
Thank You
Rich

Mesh .bgl files can be placed in any active scenery folder and FSX will find them.

I recommend you create a new folder named "Mesh" (without the quote marks), or something you will recognize, and place it in ...\FSX\Addon Scenery.

Inside "Mesh" create a new folder named "scenery" and place the .bgl files in that "scenery" folder.

You will then have to add "Mesh" to the Scenery Library in FSX.

This way you can easily disable the mesh files if you wish. It will also make it easier to upgrade or delete the mesh if needed in the future.

cheers,
Joe

Thank you Joe!! That's a great suggestion. I only wish I had done that from the very first mesh/scenery addons I ever installed.
