Hi

1st I want to thank the deseigner of that planehttp://www.simviation.com/simviation/?ID=61&page=34&mark=8330. The 2d and 3d panel are awsome as the exterior model. Shocked

But there are some things in the FM that, I think, dont reflect reality;
1st: I found that the power of that plane is quite huge at take off, climb and landing(especially with reverse). It accelerate as fast as a F18 and can do over 20kt in reverse  Cheesy
So I tweaked the power/torque scalar so I have normal operaion and speed at take off/climb and landing. But that lead to the second problem.
2nd: In real life I'm dispatching a Dash-8 200, and we made it cruise at FL240-250 at about 280-290 IAS. With that Q400, the best speed is at FL200 and at about 270 IAS wich is, oddly, quite less performant than the 200.
I tried to change some numbers but the problem is that at about FL180 the torque% drop considerably and I thing that at full power at FL200 I have 80-85% and FL250 70-75%.

I love that plane and it would be much appreciated if somone could help me with that

I don't know much about big, turbo-prop performance..

First thing that stands out, is that you're getting 290kias at FL250, in a Dash-8-200 ?  They're listed as having a max cruise of ~265knots  TRUE  airspeed. At FL250 that would be about 190kias.

As for adjusting airspeed performance.. just use NotePad, and edit the aircraft.cfg file..  Don't adjust power or tourque until you're fine-tuning.. start out adjusting the propeller thrust. Then mess with parasitic-drag, and induced-drag, so that that your low-altitude and high-altitude performance don't differ so much.

I know you said you're not familiar with turbo-prob, but the problem really is the torque% that is decreasing at a too low altitude.....
If I only change the propeller thrust, it will be OK at cruise but too powerfull at lower level/ground. But I'll try the drags, thanks  Smiley
