~S~ all,

I have been using Martin Wright's excellent cfsTmap (http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/cfstmap.htm) to create some hand-defined (i.e., not DEM) island scenery.

The difficulty I am encountering is as follows:

My North-South columns work very well - the altitude settings between layouts are seamless and there is also seamless join between layouts.

However, when creating the next column to the East, there is a clearly defined (albeit small) gap between the two North-South columns. It makes the island look like it's been through one of those wire hard-bolied egg slicers...

I have tried compiling to both standard .bgl and also to .bgl via TexRelief.

I have noticed that when the auto 'shift layout to east' tool is used the new longitude setting is accurate to around 8 decimal places (I don't have it in front of me now so can't be precise), while when the layout has been saved and re-loaded this value is rounded up/down to around 5 places.

The small difference between these values could account for the 'gap' - is this why I'm getting it and if so, is there a way of avoiding it?

As I said, the problem seems particularly to be in evidence between North-South layouts of columns as you move East-west across the scenery.

With thanks in advance,

Pads

Pads. It might be an idea to go straight to the horse's mouth & mail Martin Wright. I've always found him particularly friendly & helpful. Wink

Thanks, Hagar.

Having sent the mail here I checked Martin's site out again and found his forum.

I received a reply to my question there within 20 minutes! You were no slouch in replying either come to think of it, H.  Wink

Think I've got a handle on this now - either using another program (cfsClass) or doing some hand-tweaking.

For anyone else having difficulties creating mesh scenery, I wholeheartedly recommend Martin's web site - a great source of programs and advice!

Cheers now,

Smiley
