A few shots from a short hop I flew in my BAe 146 CityJet livery. Enjoy!

Hi!

Many thanks.  Looks a lot like that from what I remember being a passenger on an Avrojet (Swiss) going to Zurich a few years ago.

About the 4 engine thing I only saw once someone give a reason for this on a forum and that was something like "It was British and if they wanted to put 4 engines on it they would!"  It does have very good short field capability I hear so maybe that is something to do with it I don't know.  Sorry.  A cool plane though.

Many thanks!

Nice Shots!

The reasons I know of for the 4 engines are it allows it to depart from very remote airports in mountainous areas where a twin jet wouldn't be able to meet the engine out requirements.

Quad jets also have lower IFR departure minimums than twin jets so it can operate out of airports with very bad weather.

The 4 engines are quieter then the equivalently powered twins .

If you look at the prototype it only had two engines at first and was smaller in overall size, and yes they are quiet and can reverse on their own.

May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs, but that is due to change Smiley

How does it reverse by it self?

I don't think it has reverse thrust?

It does, I've flown on an old United Airlines one, man... that thing was noise, but awesome!  Cool

Impressive shots. That plane is one of my favorite "liners" in real life. The 3D model and the textures are gorgeous, I have to say.

Lookin' good, Pierre Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"
