Goodly afternoon all... Smiley

Had a little time to do a ninety minute simulated flight with several landing.

Here are four shots all in the same general area.

FSX and Windows 7
REX2
FSWC...Flight Simulator Water Configurator
Aircraft:   Bleriot  X1
Location:  Nice/Cote d' Azur "LFMN"
Think I spent a bit of time over the Ligurian Sea
Time:       Dawn
Season:    Fall

The Bleriot is slow and a lot of fun.  It is a Wing warping controlled aircraft and the Overspeed comes on at the bottom right of my computer screen quite often.

I thought the last shot was the best but now I believe the aircraft should have been a lot closer.
I was trying to capture the ground scenery in-between the sky and water while still showing both sky and water.

With this aircraft there is no tail selection view to move the aircraft up, down, left or right on my screen.
Think I tried everything I could think of so will have to wait until Stephane "Daube" or someone else comments on this.

Nice shots!

Saw the EAA's flying replica (complete with 3cylinder engine spraying oil) a year or so ago. Really rickety airplane!

That's an interesting flying machine, Doug Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

My home airport !  Cool

Nice shots Doug. I like the #2 and #3.

The first one is a good idea, but it suffers from one problem: the horizon line.
In FSX unfortunately, this horizon line doesn't look so good, not realistic. Perhaps, it would have been a good idea to use the body of the plane (including the wings) to mask it.... in such a way that you would see the sun + sky on top of the plane, and the water below, and the line would not be visible.

The last shot suffers from the ground scenery, which is not so good in that place. The default landclass in France is quite terrible. Around Nizza it's above average but still terrible  Grin (for example, the aera around the airport should be totally "city" style, not that empty.

Here is how the area should look like, from top. I took this picture shortly after my departure to Japan, back in September this year Smiley
