Continued from part 1

Left turn down, I'm now follwing the valley that goes straight to Concrete Mun:
...

The sun is getting weaker, the light on these mountains is slowly vanishing. Fortunately I'm just a few minutes away from my destination Smiley
...

Concrete is in view, I begin the approach to loose a bit of altitude and get in line with runway 25, hardly visible...  Cool
...

Landing successful, back to parking, switching everything OFF, time for a good beer  Roll Eyes
...

That's it, I hope you enjoyed the flight Smiley

More wonderful shots!

With my FS 2004 Sim, and my familiarity with the particular landscape that I have flow over, daily, for the past 12+ years, and with reference to all my various Maps of the region, I never cease to be amazed at just how accurate some of Microsoft's Autogen Scenery is, with one or two extra add-ons to boost the realism!

I often view Photographs and Web Cam images of certain areas which I am familiar with, and the accuracy of my Flight Sim scenery now is simply amazing!

Well done Microsoft...in certain scenic areas... Wink...!

Thanks a lot for the comments.

Fozzer, I perfectly understand what you said. FS9 is THE sim that got me out of the "military-only" simming experience. Before that, I used to fly on FS98 and CFS1, CFS2, and for all of these my main research efforts were for downloading military planes, mostly jets of course, to make loops in the sky.

Then FS9 appeared, and started to offer a landscape that was actually made to be explored. That changed everything. I would never have flown a Cessna before that. The freeware sceneries made by Holger Sandmann were just the "coup de grace" that got me hooked to the "low-and-slow" style Smiley

Then FSX came and it was still going in the same direction, so I followed it, as you can see  Cool

Here's an old screenshot of one of my very last "low and slow" flight in FS9, not long before I switched to FSX.

I was flying in the area covered by the North Cascades scenery from Holger. If I remember correctly, it was a flight from Concrete Mun to Packwood (a scenic flight that I highly recommend you, by the way).

...

It was in late October 2005... Brings back some good memories :')
I've made this same flight quite a few times in FSX too, before and after buying PNW. This area has become one of my favs of the FS world because of Holger...

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"
