Goodly morning all...
I stopped giving long ago until they start looking after us seniors better here in our own country....
A lesson in irony...
The Food Bank Program, administered by Social Welfare
Canada, is actually proud of the fact:
"It is distributing the greatest amount of free meals and food vouchers ever!"
Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the Canada
Parks and Natural Resources, asks us to"
"Please Do Not Feed the Animals."
Their stated reason for the policy is because the animals
will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of
themselves.
This ends today's lesson!
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Well put!
Kind of my thoughts on welfare here in the states. Yes some need it, but my dad's side of the family in its entirety has always refused to work and just lives on welfare and false disability...a couple even ran away to Canada and the UK to avoid taxes! That uncle is REALLY dumb....he has a glass eye because (drum roll)....he was playing with a stick as a kid and POKED HIS EYE!
"At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation."- Igor Sikorsky

Salutations Doug. I turned 60 last week and if I get to old to work I may need one of those food banks! That's irony.

Thanks for the replies folks...
My idea is to:
-Bring in workfare (A form of welfare in which people are required to work as a condition of receiving aid)
-Put Box Horses, Rings, Ropes, Boxing, Martial Arts and other contact sports back into the schools at all levels...
-Most children today are couch potatoes and have no idea what exercise is...we have let the Insurance Companies ruin are Physical Exercise/ Education Programs for years...
-Cut out Foreign Aid to most countries and put it into the military, education and seniors pensions...do not know of any politician using a Food Bank...
-Cut back on the money going into the Prison System, the incarcerated have better gyms than the police and school system. They also eat much much better than senior citizens. Most are released and are back in custody within hours, they have a good life thanks to the tax payer...
Just a couple of my views along with many other seniors, hope this thread does not and did not become political...
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Now these are essential
-Most children today are couch potatoes and have no idea what exercise is...we have let the Insurance Companies ruin are Physical Exercise/ Education Programs for years...
This is a question of their health when they grow older
and
-Cut back on the money going into the Prison System, the incarcerated have better gyms than the police and school system. They also eat much much better than senior citizens. Most are released and are back in custody within hours, they have a good life thanks to the tax payer... Tongue
this is related to the first one.
Thank you.

This is one of those topics that is flirting into "political" areas... and that has the potential to "go south" fast.
Please keep it civil.

Quite right John...was not thinking about that when I posted it.
The topic came up at one of our many morning social gatherings with tea, coffee and fruit cakes/coffee cakes we share in the commons room here at the condo.
I do believe the same conversation was heard at a Lodge Meeting behind closed doors also several months ago.
I am sure there is another forum somewhere that this topic would be more appreciated if not already beat to death...
Would a Moderator please close/lock this topic on my behalf as it has little to do with aviation...
