The second shot is fantastic !

The FPS shown on this one is 20... was it also 20 while flying, or did it just drop because of the screenshooting ?

Great shots, Doug Cool

Perhaps it's the aircraft model causing the FPS loss??? Are you experiencing similiar results with other aircraft?

Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Hi Chuck...NO...the Frame Rate drop happens even with Default Aircraft.

That is why I think it is the FRAPS Program that is eating up my Frame Rates as mentioned by another member here... Smiley

Hi Stephane... Smiley

Okay...the Frame Rate was 30...29...28...27 and it fluctuated up and down during the fifteen (15) minute flight.

The Frame Rate went back to 30...29 several times during the simulated flight.

Here is what I do during a simulated flight.......

(1)  Simulated Flight

(2)  I Pause the Simulated Flight when I see an interesting
      Photo Opportunity

(3)  I Pause for about five (5) to ten (10) seconds...

(4)  I then take the shot...

(5)  Then continue with the Simulated Flight

There does not seem to be a difference between Default Aircraft and Add On Aircraft with the Frame Rates when during a Simulated Flight.

This computer is used only for FSX Simulated Flights and Simviation.  Nothing else... Smiley

I am wondering if the FRAPS Program is what is causing the Frame Rate Drop?

Also I do not use any program to shut down anything running in the background and not sure what that could be to cause the Frame Rate drop.

I do not run anything else when doing a Simulated Flight.

This should be a Top End Machine with more memory than what is required to run FSX.

Much appreciated for everyone's input.... Wink

Well, i'll make a second try. See this
/yabb?num=1343930344

This is what i was trying to post:

In start/run/type msconfig chose start, then you can see what you have running in the background.

As long as you have 6 or more gb memory, theres no problem, but the gpx can be a problem, related to fps.

Try and run fps unlimited inside fsx and see how high it gets in flight, just for a test.

If its a high end machine, you should get higher.

I run 60-110 in flight and around 30-50 in heavy airports.  I dont have rex ex on my pc.

Doug, have you tried disabling the FSX native bloom feature in the graphic options ? In DirectX9 mode, it's a FPS killer.

I don't remember if I provided you the bloom files optimized by OrbX (the native FSX one, not the ENB bloom).
