Good afternoon all...
Here is my first Test Flight using REX2 Essential...
FSX and Windows 7
ORBX Scenery
REX2 Essential
FSWC...Flight Simulator Water Configurator
Frame Rates set at 30
Daube's "Stephanes" suggested settings
Was interested to see how the Frame Rates reacted...
Comments and Advice most welcome...
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

The shots are beautiful Doug !
But the FPS is still quite low, this is not normal. I don't understand where this impact comes from...
Can you take a screenshot of your FSX profile in NVidia Inspector please ?
Got bloom ?
Got mountains ?
Got damage ?

Great shots, Doug
I wonder what's beating up your framerates
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Fraps is what. Is eating up the frame rates as it takes processing space of its own to render the image. That's why fsrecorder is more popular for recording now than fraps due to its ability to record on the fly without an rps hit and render a smooth video afterwards frame by frame.
When I used to use fraps, I would see up to 20 less fps due to it.these days I only use fraps to record the sound for my recordings as fsrecorder cannot do that.

Thanks for that screenshot Doug.
Everything looks fine there. The AntiAliasing set to 16x is a bit exagerated perhaps (I keep mine at 8xS) but it should be fine on your hardware.
I still can understand where this FPS impact comes from, and this is starting to worry me a bit...
Last test: do not launch REX, launch only FSX, select the weather theme "clear weather (no clouds)", and launch a flight at the same place with the same plane as in your screens above. Tell me how much FPS you get.
Got bloom ?
Got mountains ?
Got damage ?
