It gets blown off the screen by the wind in small GA aircraft. It can be distracting though.

Larger GA aircraft such as Kingair have got wipers.

I been thinking I can do also a special animation without wipers insted having and animation of the wipers how about and animation where the drop of water runs  a side of the windshield ? like the old FS2004 rain drop FX ,but maybe more realistic that works after 60 knots of wind

I'm 100% sure this all can be done  Smiley

Awesome Cool Cool Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

That would be great !
By the way, this brings a very interesting question: what is concretely the differences between the FSX canopies and the FS9 ones ? Why don't we get this rain effect anymore in FSX, including with FS9 port-overs ? What is preventing the effect to show ?

this kind of effect looks awesome BUT there's a lot of complication with it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPiaoY9Ncp8

I read that there is a video involve ,I don't know
If I decide to do this it has to be simple to avoid users complications

Thanks Alex, I'll have to merge this with the posky models ASAP Cool.
Can't wipers get blown off in the heavies? Shocked

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

Hi All,

I think the idea of adding rain effects in FSX is a great one.  For single engine props ( and probably small twins too), as soon as the prop is turning, the rain gets pushed back from the windscreen.  Jets will be more difficult, but starting the rain moving about 30 or 40 knots should be a good start.  Looking forward to this.

Back on the subject of the 747 upgraded panel for a minute.  I have enjoyed both the 737 and 747 work Alrot has done greatly but found a slight problem with the 747.

In the VC, the original 747 MFD display allowed adjusting the course in the upper right corner eliminating the need for a course knob on the autopilot.  The 737 MFD that has been subsituted has much more detail than the 747 MFD but does not have the capability to adjust the course.  Since the 747 autopilot also does not have a course knob, there is no way to adjust the course for aligning Nav 1, used in ILS appproaches, with the runway.  I hope this makes sense.  In my mind, an easy fix would be to supply a knob such as Alrot used in his MD80's under the Autopilot heading knob.  Right now acces to the course is only on the 2D panel which retains the original 747 MFD.

Hope the fix is as easy as I think.  Thanks again for the great work,

Fred

I finally had the chance to use the new vc recently and I LOVE IT! Smiley
I would only add one additional feature.  I frequently use JustFlight's Air Hauler and depending on the cargo I need to limit my banks to 22.5 degrees or less.  On the default 747 it the knob doesn't budge in vc or in regular cockpit view.
Keep up the excellent work Alrot.  You continue to outdo yourself! Wink Smiley

wow You are right!!  Shocked

The CRS knob control is not there ,I miss that one

I'll what I can do ,I try to add it into the New MFD but it has a link that wont allow it
I think the best way its to build a knob and a CRS window
in the autopilot area

maybe to replace the unuseful knob  and add the one in the 737 with bank angle

I'll start to work on it
