Well I solved 1 issue,, now another one cropped up,, but everything was working excellent before I and a few others evidently downloaded this aircraft that apparently has multiple problems, but I refuse to believe thats the problem with this issue. I have also deleted that aircraft since,, but what causes the FSX Start up screen to just Hang ( see screen shot),, it wasn't doing this 2.5 hours ago - now it is,,, what file needs looking at for further examination and where might I find this file ???? Alrot , you in there ?? Thanks for any answers & information ! Jet,,,...

Delete your fsx.cfg file and restart.
When installing anything, allways make a restart, and when things causing problems, delete it! I've seen that many times.
I'm a wonder too.

DO NOT DELEATE YOIR FSX CFG UNTILL YOU BACK IT UP.  If you deleate it, and you don't have a back up, you have to reinstall FSX.

Have no idea what caused it to Hang like it did , but ,, for those wanting to know after I did the FSX Disk Repair mode I still had the problem, it wasn't until I ALSO,,, inserted the FSX Acceleration disk, and clicked the repair mode that FSX finally straightend itself out and I have no more hang on the main screen. So, just don't stop with the 1st 2 disks after repair, you'll also need to insert the Acceleration disk and click repair mode , don't forget !!! very important if you ever run into problems with FSX Gold Acceleration . everything appears back to normal now !! finally 5 hours later of tinkering with the thing. I did NOT have to do any un-install either , luckily ! and while I was at it I decided to go into the main FSX CFG file, and change the parking brakes from showing up at the bottom of the screen,, finally , thanks to some of the sim pilots above for helping me on that as well !! Thanks guys for helping me to locate the FSX CFG file !! much appreciated , your assistance  Smiley Smiley Smiley....

Its not quite so, BlackAce.
Fsx will make a new fsx.cfg file when deleted. But you are right about backing up, and that means everything you delete or change.

Good to see you got it working, Jetranger  Smiley

Also I want to make clear - that just because you may have the File Name in the proper place - that still Doesn't not make it the necessary File !!!  As with the Example above, all the File names are correct just as in the Original Default made of FSX Gold Acceleration, but the actual File of the Texture itself got somehow changed , and it would of had to been thru a Download of some scenery of some sort, as thats what I had been doing quite a bit of when I noticed that none , zero , of my FSX Default prop planes had chrome spin caps any more, also I think anything Shiny, Reflective or Chrome looking in Default FSX relies on those 2 particular files to accurately render as well. I think the designer / creator who ever they were, mistakenly directed it to the wrong section, or , they've copied by right clicking on the file, thinking they were copying the whole file, with a mouse click, which clearly didn't happen, and then went ahead and executed it in to their scenery , without Testing it or "double checking" their work beforehand. I attribute this kind of building scenery & aircraft much like putting an engine together, check, re-check & triple check your work to make sure - nobody wants a Loose Main Cap on the Connecting Rods or loose Rod Cap, and hear funny sounds 10 miles down the road, one of those WTF moments !!  but it happens in every situtation no matter how hard ya try , sometimes ya hit it just right, other times ya don't, its those don'ts that seem to come back and haunt ya tho ~ !   Smiley Shocked Cool Undecided

This is a good example of why I always advise people not to overwrite default files without backing them up first. Also the main reason I dislike auto-installers. These cannot work without overwriting default folders & their contents.
