Hi !

I downloaded the Transall C-160 so I could add it to my collection and create views for

it which I post when done.

Unfortunatly there is a texture problem with the propellers when engines are running.

Can someone fix it please.  I have no experience yet in handling textures.

Thanks a lot for any answers.

Can you post a download link so that I can try it?

I've checked this out for you. It's easy enough to fix it yourself. You will need DXTBmp if you don't already have it. http://www.mwgfx.co.uk/programs/dxtbmp.htm

Run DXTBmp & open C160_disco-elica.bmp (in the Transall_C-160\texture folder).
Double-click on the Alpha channel image at top right to send it to editor.
Select the bucket fill tool & change the palette index to something like 20. The image should change from white to black.
Exit your graphics editor saving changes when prompted.
Back in DXTBmp click Alpha > Refresh Alpha.
Finally click File > Save As > Extended Bitmap. Select DX3 format in the 'Save as type' box & click Save. Overwrite the original file when prompted.

Check it out in FSX. If it works you can paste a copy of the modified texture into the Texture.1 folder.

Note: As this is an FS9 model it won't make it fully compatible with FSX.

Okay I downloaded the C-160 but the props were black like yours and i couldn't fix it, so I deleted the plane because i never waste my time trying to get dead ducks to work.
Hagar's advice is better than mine, so try that..Smiley

PS- below is an old post by somebody which i saved; he talks about replacing prop bgl files, but the problem is some planes don't seem to have bgl's, for example i couldn't find one in the Transall folder-
-----------------------------------------------------------

I have a number of prop planes that had the strange looking prop in spot view (imported from FS9).

Simply replacing the prop bgl with one that worked ok fixed it for me. For example I replaced mine with the bgl from the Coranado V35.

First of all, before doing anything else, copy an original backup copy of the file/folder with which you are working!!!!! I personally copy the entire aircraft folder to my desktop. Then if something smells bad, you can always get back to go.

1. Disable or remove the the bgl file in question in the texture folder of the aircraft with the problem.

2. Replace it with one that you like from another aircraft (in my case, copied the V35 prop bgl).

3. Rename the replacement bgl with the original title.

He means BMP file. I've already given you the name of the C-160 prop BMP.
