I recently had to remove fsx from my computer. I can reinstall just the gold addition and am able to play online. It seems to work really well. When I reinstall the acceleration pack I get a code and it would play online. Anyone have any idea of what going on?

The 'gold' edition of FSX includes acceleration as well as the flight sim itself. You only have to install acceleration if you only have the standard or deluxe versions of FSX.

Gold version FSX doesn't install Acceleration pack - you have to install it if you want the additional aircraft and missions that use them, and as mentioned via the link supplied above, it has it's own registration/serial number.
Installing FSX does just that without acceleration.

So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs, but that is due to change
