Good afternoon all...
Well I asked this question in the FSX Section but got no answers.
What I wanted to know is when using REX2 and I do not complete the flight and reload it the next day does REX2 automatically reload with the saved flight.
I think it does but the weather does not as the second session of the simulated flight there were no weather updates.
Here are seven shots.
FSX and Windows 7
ORBX Scenery
REX2
Carenado Cessna 185 Bush which I would like to add a better radio and Auto Pilot to...
Livery by "Patchz"...Larry
Season...Spring 2011 AM
From...Friday Harbour, Washington State, United States
To.......Tamgass Harbour, Alaska State, United States
Also Flying through Canadian Airspace
1st Session was stopped yesterday at 4th picture.
Regular weather updates.
Unhandled Exception Error when closed FSX.
Departing Friday Harbour...Gear Retracting
On Course...
Paddle on Starboard Float...
We always add some red or yellow markings to this type of equipment as it is easy to see when someone drops it in the water...
End of Session One...
Start of Session Two...today
Passing a seaplane/floatplane base with boats...
Light rain starting...
Tofino..."CYAZ"...British Columbia...Canada
Tofino..."CAB4"...Seaplane/Floatplane Base
Saved Flight to continue tomorrow.
Closed out FSX and got No Errors?
I think these Errors have something to do with the Weather in REX2.
Comments and advice most welcome...
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Fantastic shots, Doug.....the third and last are awesome
I don't remember if I mentioned it or not before, but the REX Weather Engine always caused that same error when I closed FSX. I never could figure out why, so I just stopped using the weather engine. Hopefully the new REX Essentials upgrade will solve this problem for me. I just have to wait until they come out with the Essentials OD version since I am running OD
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Third shot = BEAUTIFUL ! It could be quite a nice desktop wallpaper, too
The last one is really great as well, that's quite a panorama
Concerning REX: even though I don't use it ("yet"... I might buy this newest version that has just been released), I believe that REX will perform two kind of operations:
1- set the cloud+water+sky textures according to the theme you chose. This is permanent, the textures are replaced, so you don't need to keep REX running to see them. If you launch FSX alone, you will still see the skies+clouds+water textures and shaders that you previously selected.
2- set the weather.... this is more difficult, because I don't really know "how" REX sets the weather in FSX. But one thing I know is that once the weather is set in the sim, if you save your flight, then the weather is saved too. That means that if you launch FSX without REX, and load your saved flight, you will get your weather back exactely as it was that time, even if REX is not running.
I might be wrong on point number 2 above, I hope some experienced REX user can confirm. But in my opinion, if it works like that, then you can launch a flight at the place you want to go, set the weather with REX, save your flight before REX dies, and quit the sim, kill REX (if not already dead), relaunch the sim, reload your saved flight, and enjoy your saved weather
Got bloom ?
Got mountains ?
Got damage ?

Shot 1 is quite something
It could be real, no doubt...It follows the rule, if the scenery is good, Use it!
Now looking at shot 6 - the road system is the giveaway that this is FSX. I do find it odd how roads just go all over and criss cross everywhere! However, 2 just about gets away with it, 3 is a stunner! Id maybe loose the airfield in shot 7 because everything else is great with this shot.
If i dont start REX to fire up FSX from within, and just start FSX, REX starts anyway, so i guess its to the task manager to shut it down..! Its defo simconnect thats causing my errors on shutdown now ive looked at it.......But it doesnt appear to interfere with FSX at all.
But good stuff Flying Trucker, keep at it

Love that last shot. I see what todayshorse is saying about loosing the airfield, but nice work all around!
