Wow, been a while.  Good to see this place is still around.

So been playin the Microsoft Flight 'demo,' enjoyin the heck out of the Icon A5, but feeling a bit cramped and bored due to lack of scenery.  I reinstalled good ol' FS9 and did some searching, finding a couple A5s for FSX.  One of them (a rather sub-part version, to be frank) works fine; the other results in an error message when I try to select it.

I went to the mentioned file directory, and there is indeed an A5.mdl present.  So this has me a bit stumped, as well as disappointed, since that version of the plane supposedly has all the features I'd like (some that even the "Flight" version doesn't have- you know they left out the FLAPS of all things?).

Real FSX planes will NOT work in FS9, because the model formats are different.
"FSX-compatbile planes" will work, since they are not real FSX planes (no self shadows, no bumpmaps, no VC in separate MDL file etc...), but FS9 planes in fact.

Flight isn't known for its realism or accuracy,or its cheap price...

I don't think they invented forward compatibility yet... Probably when we get some time machines running... Grin
