Well boo-hoo...  Seriously, I have a hard time feeling sorry for some guy having to give up $200 per week for steak dinners when I can't afford $400 per month for my kid's health insurance.  I mean, seriously.  Welcome to the real world, pal...   Angry

The greatest risk of having lots of money, you abuse it when you have it. And you cry for it when it's gone.  Cool

Actually, a lot of people who win a considerable amount in lotteries end up losing their house. They waste the money and wonder why they can't afford things.

The best way to be rich, is to live cheap... And not to go travelling when there's a recession.

Though I can't relate to your problems paying for health insurance (ours is 'free', and I don't earn enough to pay any taxes anyway  Grin ) I can relate to people losing out on work. Where I work, this year is currently our busiest so far, but the price of extra drinks, food, etc, and the reduced income does mean that fewer people can work.

Thankfully, I saved up for a rainy day and have £100 in premium bonds somewhere... That'll last me about 12 months as a fast-food student   Tongue

And that is the truth.  I meet lots of wealthier people in my line of work, and most have one thing in common, they are cheap.  They consider every penny as an potential investment.

That is also why most lottery winners lose it all, they only know how to spend.  There was an economics study years ago that figured even if you took all the money in the world, and divided it evenly to everyone, within 5 years the wealthy would be wealthy again, and the poor would be poor again.

There is a difference between miserly and thrifty though. I guess when I leave this earth, I'll be leaving with empty pockets. In other news.. Sir Conrad Black is getting out of jail next Friday.  Tongue

When I leave this Earth, it'll be the same way I came in; naked and screaming.  Only this time I'll bet no one will be saying how cute and adorable I am...   Wink
