Hi all, over at the Ford Tri-Motor Project site we have available some very unique scenery designed just for your flying pleasure.

The latest to be released is an entire airfield burried within a mountain in Switzerland.  Yes, a whole airfield, building and all.

Two runways - one external to the mountain running across the face and another partially into the mountain.

There is an easy tunnel take off option leaving from runway 18 end or you can take the hard route - take off from runway 36, flying back into the mountain and climb out through a tunnel to the rear.   Also a fun challenge coming down the glide slope through the tunnel to touchdown on runway 18.

Try it out with a Ford Tri-Motor to make it a really tight flight Smiley

Here are some pictures.

There are also many other FREE fun scenery packs available on the Ford Tri-Motor site.  Pop on over and download and enjoy whatever you want from the site.

We are trying to add some fun and entertainment to your simming experience via this project - even for the serious simmers it is good sometimes to just have a bit of frivilous fun testing your flying skills.

We even have some Jigsaw Puzzles to keep you entertain when you feel like a break from flying.

Go ahead, give yourself a relaxing break - surf to http://www.ford-tri-motor.net and surprise yourself with what is available there for FREE and all developed and given away for FREE to enrich your flying experience.

Regards

Garry J. Smith and Edward C. Moore - your Ford Tri-Motor Project Team.

Hi Gary... Smiley

Looked at the site several times and was looking for information on FSX compatibility and did not see any.

What I found was this:

Note:  The liveries available through this site will work for both FS2004 and FSX if you have a working copy of an FSX conversion of the Default Microsoft Ford Tri-Motor.

Would be nice if it were fully FSX compatible... Wink

OK, here is the info on FSX:

These scenery packages are designed specifically for FS2004

Untested with FSX.   The scenery packs are designed to accommodate all of the Textures and Scenery Objects in the Principle (KORS-ORCA) Scenery and all of the subordinate scenery packs use the Objects and Textures from the Principle.  Each Scenery Pack contains the relevant scenery and the relevant AI aircraft.   Some of the subordinate packs will contain scenery objects and textures unique to that pack - such as New Zealand space port objects and textures.

Enjoy.

Ed

What I do, to get the best of both worlds... Smiley...!

I have both FS 2004 AND FSX on my Hard Drive, and I just swap between the two Sims to use the compatible scenery, objects, etc, suitable for each Flight Sim... Smiley...!

I am regularly selecting between the two Icons on my desktop...FSX/FS9!
...not to mention, FS 2002, CFS 2, Flight Unlimited II, Pro Pilot '99, Flight, etc, all on my HDD!... Smiley...( I lead a very sheltered life!... Grin...!).

Thanks Gentlemen,

All of the stuff is for your flying pleasure and if it gives you some fun and entertainment then that's great.

For Flying Trucker,  Mate the scenery stuff is specifically for FS2004 - however, as highlighted, the LIVERIES available on the site for the Ford, Vega or Flamingo will indeed work for the appropriate models in FSX.

Ed and my focus is FS2004 - simply because that is our preferred environment for the Ford Tri-Motor Project.

Scenery will have problems in FSX for a plethora of reasons due to fundamental development differences in the two environment.

Ed and I intentionally choose not to expend time and effort to modify and complicate the Project with alternative packages.

Regards and, as always, happy simming Smiley
