Goodly afternoon all...
Did not know where to type this out as I do not think it belongs in:
-Current Flight Simulator Series
-Other Websites
I have some time on my hands waiting for my order of Add-Ons to arrive from Florida for FSX.
I got browsing the internet and I found several interesting sites.
-Pro Flight Simulator
http://www.proflightsimulator.com/
-Flight Simulator 11
http://www.flightsimulator.se/index.html
Both sites looked good but have left me wondering about a couple of things.
I have just ordered and waiting for:
-REX
-3D Lights
-FSX Booster
-2 ORBX Sceneries
FTX: NA Blue
FTX: Pacific Northwest
-Aircraft...Cessna 172 Float
Cessna 185 Bush
Cessna 337
Piper Arrow "Disk"
Already have Ultimate Terrain and Ground Environment X
I know the above Payware will enhance FSX and give me an additional few more bugsmashers on floats.
Have not downloaded FSX yet as I will ask here later when I am ready to download things.
EX:
-FSX
-SP1
-Acceleration
-FSX Booster
-REX
etc....etc...I am sure there is an order of installation
Now, after viewing the two above sites I am wondering if I made the smart choice of even considering add-ons and FSX?
The several videos I viewed were extremely well done and the product looked real good.
I also read quite a few reviews which were impressive.
Now it would seem at lot of folks here are not happy with the new Microsoft Flight Game and I am wondering if these two sites should not also be added to the Simviation Current Flight Simulator Series.
Before I go to the trouble of installing a lot of stuff like FSX it sure would be nice to get a few other opinions on these other two sites.
Thanks in advance...Doug
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

From the pictures I see in proflightsimulator FSX looks more realistic.
The lights don't look that good and neither do the graphics.
And most of the aircraft are probably available for FSX...
FS11 is FSX with the addons you have.
It would be even better to get accu-feel too I suppose...

Doug. Pro Flight Simulator is a re-branding of the FlightGear open-source flight simulator. You can download it here free of charge -->
http://www.flightgear.org/download/
Flight Simulator 11 is simply FSX with selected payware addons.
If I was really serious about this I think Prepar3D Academic is worth checking out.

Prepar3D is the only worth successor to FSX, because it IS FSX with fixes and optimizations. But it's still not the correct moment to buy it, it's still too soon, the soft hasn't got enough "goodies" yet.
Pro Flight Simulator is a scam. They are trying to SELL a software which is free. It should be avoided like filth. They even hire people to make false advertisement about it on some forums, for example Flight Sim World forums. Fortunately, the people over there are well aware about what kind of trap (replace a letter there) this soft is.
FS11 is indeed just FSX with some paywares.
Got bloom ?
Got mountains ?
Got damage ?

Doug, FSX is the great sim for now until someone makes an even better one.
Your running Windows 7 aren't you?
When you’re ready to install FSX be sure to read this thread.

From the looks of it outerra is more of a game then a sim.
From the videos it looks like you've got to 'build'the earth.
But I am not sure.

Outerra is a whole world sim. Cars, Boats, Planes etc.
It uses the same Flight Dynamics program as Flightgear.
To get the A/C you have to buy it.
There are two modes, free play, fly, drive whatever & Anteworld where you have to rebuild Earth.

Nope.
Outerra is actually aiming to be a full simulation of transport from space down.
But you also have to remember this is an EARLY build of and it already pretty much looks better than "flight" or fsx with addons. They are yet to do the cities and such but they are working on it.
Anyway they have a beta that you can download for free that you can take a look at.
Here
And a $15 version that has tools for making your own city and an Apache and Cessna 182+ a tatra
.
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.
