So I have just finished my 7 day shift of nights. Each and every day I have slept a beautiful day away. I finished this morning. As I drove home, the clouds rolled in, the odd drop started to fall. Get in, go to bed, get up, read the weather forecast. It is forecast to be cold and piss with rain for the next four days. Four days I have off until my next 7 rotation starts. If there is a divine deity, we certainly don't share a common sense of humour.............

AFTER THE SPRING FLOOD.

After the rains, these April days
Have warmer turned; there's mist at night
But, mornings, just a gently haze
Hangs in the clearings far away,
And basks the air in warmth and light.

The forest's wrapped in dreams benign.
And mirrored in the lakes, it seems
That greener are crowns of pines,
The graceful larches more refined,
More picturesque the sylvan scene...
