Lookin' good
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Wonderful shots...
...!
The second pic is interesting, as I mentioned in another thread regarding the absence of "Sunshine" on the scenery...
Note that the aircraft is bathed in brilliant sunshine, but it is not represented in the scenery down below!
Something must be done to the M$ scenery!...

Paul...a little ray of sunshine, on a dreary day!...

The scenery down below has the sunshine, but the ground is deep green and the trees are very dark. Their shadows are clearly visible too. In my opinion, this shot is the best of the serie, and I don't see any need to edit the excellent OrbX textures at all
Got bloom ?
Got mountains ?
Got damage ?

From my excursions above in the local Clubs Cessna 152, (I use it to compare the difference between the Sim, and real life), I observe the contrast in "brightness" between any scenery in cloud shadow, and the scenery exposed to brilliant sunshine, the exposed ground and vegetation takes on a far brighter hue...almost bright yellow!
It is something which is not well replicated in the flight sim Autogen scenery and objects.
Clouds casting shadows on the ground, was something which was wished for, in various discussions regarding the sims.
Maybe it is not easy to achieve as it appears in real life!
On a clear, sunny day, the extreme brightness of the green grass, and buildings, in my back garden can clearly be observed when not in shadow.
That's when I am aware that it is a true; "Sunny Day!"...

Indeed the FSX graphic engine is too limited to show the cloud shadows. That's one of the many advantages that XPlane 10 has on FSX, by the way. :/
It must be nice to take a look at the surrounding terrain while flying in a C152. On saturday, I tried doing that from a Pilatus PC-6 at 400 meters altitude. Unfortunately, the plexiglass windows were not so clean, with a lot of scratches too.... so we opened the door and jumped out of the plane. Then the view became fantastic
@Scalper: did you install the freeware damage and wear mod for the default C208 ? It's great !
Also, you might want to give a try to the freeware 3D landing lights.
Got bloom ?

Got damage ?

Don't be scared ! It's cool and you'll love the Caravan (and the C172, and the Baron) even more !
One advise though: before modifying anything, just create a backup copy of the main plane folder. I did this with Winrar for example, right click on the C208B folder (in FSX\Simobjects\Airplanes\), and "add to C208B.rar". Now I have three archives, containing my original, unmodified C172, Baron and C208. If I mess up anything with these planes, I won't need to perform any repair, I have my original files in the archives.
