I found a repiant for a the default 747 in FSX. I added everything correctly. Just before exiting the CFG file it asks me if I want to save. I say yes, then it takes me to another place to save the file. By default the file save says aircraft. i hit ok and it says access denied. I used to do this all the time with XP up through my current OS. Did i miss a step? I'm used to the file just excepting its being overwritten and thats it. I want my Hibiscus back Angry. Any help would be appreciated.

This question comes up about every month I think.

Drag the aircraft.cfg and put it on your desktop. Add the new aircraft texture text info, save the file, then place the aircraft.cfg back in the folder of the correct aircraft.

Dunno why Win7 works this way but it do.

Hope this helps

Default Windows 7 protect you from yourself setting. The whole Program files & Program files (x86) area is classed as read-only.

Right click on the FSX Root folder, click on properties & then un-tick the box read-only, now press apply. Now it shouldn’t say "access denied" when you try to add repaints. Wink

It's very simple: When you try to add a new scenery, you select the folder that contains your new scenery and you press OK. At this point, instead of just adding the scenery to the list, FSX shows you the content of this folder, right ? Then just click somewhere near to (not on) these folders, in the white space of the folder selection window. It will have the effect you were looking for Smiley
