Great shots, Jetprop Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Kirk olssen's(spelling?).
You can find it on simvaition, you may need to download a glass fix for it tough, and the VC is inacurate I think+The flight model seems highly unrealistic,or that could be me. Roll Eyes Grin

It is a disaster to land!
It will alway turn to the direction you're banking, like,if you are banking left it will try and bank even further left and if you bank right it will try and bank even further right!

And the speedo is on the wing. Shocked

If you think it's hard to land on FSX try landing the Dr.1 on Rise of Flight. Wink

Be carefull with the brakes, don't hold them, just use them every 2 seconds or so,it has a short stopping distance even withouth brakes anyway. Wink

You shouldn't need brakes when landing the Piper Cub. I think you chaps need to take a taildragger course. Wink

Wouldn't it depend on where you are landing?
Since on REALY short runways I think it would be better to use some brakes. Grin

The brakes on the Cub are mainly for parking & to help with steering while taxiing. If you do a proper three-point landing it should land on a sixpence. http://coyjay.hubpages.com/hub/Learning-to-Fly-in-a-Piper-J-3-Cub

WWI taildraggers like the Fokker Triplane weren't fitted with brakes.

It's not difficult when you know how. You youngsters rely too much on brakes. Tongue

Taildraggers with no brakes usually have a tailskid which acts as a brake when the tail is on the ground. They were intended to operate from all-grass airfields & take off/land directly into wind.

I can land fine on FSX with no brakes & actually disable them on WW1 aircaft, but when it comes to Rise of Flight it would take me a month of Sundays to do a good landing in the Dr.1
(It realistically models the rotary engine & normally I come back with bullet holes in my control surfaces Wink)
