From gate to gate on KLM flight KL1072 (Read 521 times)

Parked at gate 56 at Manchester Airport.

We're due for departure at 05:55 on to runway 23R to Schiphol, Amsterdam.
We're pretty heavy on this flight, there's 122 passengers on board and 5,000lb of cargo so with fuel our GW is around 63,000lb just 6,000lb short of our MTW.
...

Holding Short at 23R.

I've gone for flaps 10 on this take off and derated thrust to 88% of N1, the aircraft maybe heavy but there's no shortage of runway here at Manchester.
...

We've been cleared on the LIST1R departure to the LISTO intersection before heading east over the North Sea.
...

The LIST1R departure is pretty lively, there's a slight turn to the right just after takeoff before a tight turn to the left towards LISTO.
...

I arrived using the LAMS1A STAR on to the ILS approach to runway 22, everything was pretty smooth although visibility was poor due to low cloud.
...

We touched down nice and smoothly just after 08:20CET giving us a flight time of a little over an hour and 30mins.
...

Parked up at the gate getting turned around for the trip back to Manchester in an hour.
...

Thanks for looking  Smiley

Great set, Dave Cool Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Ye, I always see KLM 737-700s landing when I'm at work and so I thought....hmmm I want one of those!
They remind me of flying go carts being so small and stumpy.

That shot in the flare? Primo! The lighting, the sky, the angle... all the elements come together.
