Hi Guys and Gals.
Just got a much larger monitor (old one expired) and am finding the Red Lettering in the top left of the screen, when I press Shift+Z is very hard to read as it's too small. Doesn't happen in FS9.
Any thoughts?

Cheers.

Not sure if it will make a difference in the sim, but maybe changing your DPI setting  a few notches might help.

try lowering you're FS's screen reolution.  The higher it is, the smaller things look.  Note, do it in FS, not your computer, and also this will affect EVRYTHING in FS.  (It should also increase your fps as well Wink)

Thanks for the replies Guys.
I tried changing the resolution to a lower value but it didn't realy make a great deal of difference. Also, it seems a shame to have a Full HD 1080p monitor just to turn the reso. down.
Haven't tried the DPI suggestion but I can't understand why the same lettering in FS9 is proportionately larger on the bigger screen, when in FSX the lettering appears to be the same size as on my old tiny monitor?  Undecided

What size is the monitor?

Go to Control Panel > Appearance & Personalization > Display and see what you are set at.  Most Win7 systems will be set at "Smaller" and it should also show Smaller as "100% (default)".

After that on the left select adjust screen resolution and make sure that your resolution is set to the monitor's recommended resolution.

After that go into your Nvidia control panel and the FSX graphics settings and make sure that the resolution is the same setting in all places.

Also if you have a widescreen monitor and your old one was not then in your fsx.cfg file there is a setting that is something like

widescreen=false

change this it true if you have a widescreen now.

Idahosurge, your on the right track, Zaphod, if you changed monitors, maybe letting the sim rewrite the FSX.cfg might correct the text.

Thanks again for the replies.
I've tried all the above suggestions but the text still remains very small.
I've found these lines in the FSX.CFG but none seem to relate to size but I assume they control the position of the text on the screen

[TextInfo.1]
AirSpeed=1,5
Altitude=1,3
Heading=1,4
Latitude=1,1
Longitude=1,2
WindDirectionAndSpeed=1,6

Hey ho. Perhaps some stronger glasses will help. Grin

Zaphod.

PS.
Couldn't find any entry in the CFG regarding "widescreen."

Set "WideViewAspect" under [Display] to True.

Thanks for the suggestion FoxThree. I changed the value from False to True but it didn't make any difference.
