Don't let things like this get to you, it's not worth it. You've done some awesome things for the flight sim community and they surely outweigh one disgruntled simmer who can't read and follow the directions, even when they're spelled-out for him. I, for one, am extremely jealous of your capabilities and if he doesn't like them then he should try creating something himself. It takes alot of time and patience to do what you do, so if he can do better, he should give it a shot. His criticism is totally unwarranted and he should apologize immediately. I understand people get frustrated and mad at products but it was his own fault, not yours. Your Citation and 727 sit in my hangar proudly. You do outstanding work, Alrot. I'm behind you on this one and hopefully will see the apology that's well deserved.

Alex, don't listen to that jumped-up moron, he doesn't know what he is talking about. Your models are great & I have most of them in my hanger. He didn't listen to what you said about backing up the B737 folder & paid the price. We have already lost a great repainter this month let’s not lose a great developer as well.

BTW the texture files of this guy still there are NOT missing ,the software just replace the VC night texture in the folder "texture" what he had to do is to add then in the aircraft.cfg because the aircraft.cfg was replaced to activate the cabin lights ..

Is it me, or has anyone else notice the onslaught toward freeware developers lately? Kinda funny how all of a sudden in the past few months there's been quite a few morons out there bitching about freeware. Just before MSflight is ready to be launched,,,,,hmmmmmm.
Seems like a plot to discourage freeware development.
Alrot forget them, nothing but a bunch of computer tough guys, in real life these kind of creeps don't have the guts to face you in person.
Don't let'em get you down, Sim V wouldn't be the same without you.

Alex, I'v seen a lot of your work and you are right, you don't deserve to be treated like that. I know it, people in the sim community knows it and above all, I'm sure you know it. The reason because this kind of angry and impolite reation gets to you it is because you are a considerate, polite, giving person. As you surely know, calm, considerate polite people are easy targets for rude hot-headed selfish people. As someone said above: just rub it off your feathers: mud does not stick to eagles. Or: "Los perros ladran pero la caravana pasa "

Alex,
Remember that piss-ant morons like that act tough when concealed by the anonymity of the Internet and they wouldn't have the balls to say those things in a face-to-face conversation.
For every one of those south-end-of-a-north-facing-dogs there are dozens and dozens of people who like your work and respects your efforts.
It's the one bad apple syndrome.
Don't let 'em get you down, they're not worth the effort it takes to think about them.
cheers,

Seems the quote "you can't win a battle of with with an unarmed man" comes to mind. SimV has been my provider of add ons since I got FSX and I have yet to find a less than outstanding download. I have had more problems with name brand providers that have glaring errors in their installation that should certainly know better. I echo the others when I say don't let this half wit get you down. Thanks for all your great efforts

I had the same thing happen to me, but i read the ReadMe file and it said to backup my things so i did.
it was only a matter of going in and retrieving the aircraft.cfg file and presto - all the skins are back.
I have since reinstalled the upgraded cockpit but i dorked it up and backed up the new aircraft.cfg file instead of the old one which is now gone.
i could really use the old 737-800 aircraft.cfg file now
LOL
such things are minor inconveniences really.
dont let this sort of thing bug you - either one of you.

Alex don't let that one person ruin your efforts and heart. You're even getting praise all the way at
Simhq
.
That should mean allot

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

My God Alex!! What a total moron!!!
I'm almost tempted to say - post his email here - but I won't.
There are people in this world Alex who really smell of a bad brown excrement - this guy is one.
Don't let the pinheads of this world get you down. They will always be here - always destroying things - throwing litter out of their cars, etc.
Fight them & don't let them get you down!!!

I don't say a whole lot here but, what a P.O.S. post.
Very nice post indeed....
His second post and he's an expert? What does he, or what did he have to offer to the sim community besides derogatory statements? I can only imagine what else was said in the "email"....
Maybe he can also give you advice how to build telescopes too!
Keep up the good work, don't let one P.O.S. ruin what you do, as other have posted and I'll also say, we like and enjoy your contributions to the sim community.

My mistake. Personally, I still would not have reposted that dialogue here. I work in IT and often deal with people who don't read manuals and who do not have computer skills. And I try not to vent and complain to others about it, even when those people are cross and impatient. As I've told Alex, I have great respect for content developers who freely share their work, and I'm grateful for the many hours of enjoyment their aircraft, cockpits, and scenery bring to us all. That said, the original cockpit's gauge
was
causing CTDs, and that was sure to cause problems for those who don't have computer skills. Glad that it's now fixed, and thank you, Alex.

LOL... That bloody moron probably replaced the aircraft.CFG file without even thinking what he was doing. sheesh... And he offended freeware developers as a whole too with that statement! Well let me say one thing: the diference between freeware and payware add ons isn't just the quality. Teh diference is that freeware add ons actually make you use your brain to install them correctly... If you do not have any sort of matter inside your skull (or just common sense to read the instructions) you better stay away from freeware products... Jackass...

I agree completely with you statement Ricardo. I have only just started using Gmax but that moron's statement offended me as well. The difference between payware & freeware is freeware is made by people who enjoying making thing & do it for the community, not for personal gain.

that thread its gone from the support forum as so the "Ryan" that its his name also a Jackass ,a good friend of here advise me to delete the whole thread and forget about it..
I could expose his email, I won't
I won't denied that I think this is the first time someone in this FS things talks to me like that (at least in public there's been few Emails, jezz ),
I felt nausea a lot ,I'm also a human being ,I was so upset yesterday that I even track his IP ,yes that's me the childish and also human, and I have a clue ,he's someone who live in the earth ...LOL
I also Doubt of my self ,that why I open this thread TO WARN PEOPLE ,TO SAvE AND BACK UP THE B737-80 FOLDER if you see how did I start it by warning people about to back it up ,I wasn't looking to call the attention or anything like that..
Why Auto-Install? because there are files that goes to the main sound folder others I thought also that woould't work well in the panel folder ,If I have a lot of A LOT OF!!...no TONS
of people asking me how to install the Citation X and md83 , a silly thing to place a folder in Airplane's folder ,Can YOU Imagine what if they have to put things around the main folder??
,That wasn't private PM, that was posted on my Website which is also more like a support forum for free too
Its not easy after couple days working so hard on a thing that will be for the joy of FS enthusiast to get that offensive speech
But the best heal its to see you people give me your support and appreciation
thank you guys

Hi, I'm completely new here, been lurking as a guest enjoying everyone's great work for so long, but having read this post I'm amazed! There is soooo much I don't know about customising FSX, and I've abandoned quite a few planes because the cockpit was black, or some other feature wouldn't work, that I have since found out would have been easy to fix (I had the great RAAF superhornet and found I could not see out of the hornet glass - I have eventually found out how to fix this, and absolutely love it) but at no time did I feel that this was the simviation contributor's fault, and frankly I'm disgusted that someone would feel this way about something they have not paid or sacrificed anything for.
And, for the record, even in MY inexperience I knew enough to keep a rolling set of back-ups of the simobject, effects, gauges etc directories
Keep up all the good work, it's much appreciated, even though not everyone voices it.
