sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I have downloaded the USS nimitz for FSX and i have been trying to get the elevators to work for quite a while now.
I searched online and it says its automatic when you park on it.
do you have to shut down the battery aswell or do the engines need to be running?
any help is apreciated.

And I KNOW the elevators work since i saw it on youtube. Roll Eyes

They go up and down every two or three minutes, no matter if you are sitting on them or not, no matter if your engines are running or not Smiley

Actually, I wrote "they", but really, there's only ONE active elevator: the one that is on the back right, just behind the control tower. The others are inactive.

It's quite difficult to really get the "feeling" of the carrier landing.
Normally, you're supposed to make a nice approach, guided by the "mirror", these green/yellow/red lights on the left of the wires... but honnestly, I never look at it. I started doing just some touch and goes, without lowering the arrestor hook, just to test the altitude, the approach speeds, you know... then, when I began to feel a bit more comfortable, I lowered the hook and tried to stay on the deck Wink

You can do an ILS landing, but ONLY with the planes that have that special enhanced HUD gauge. The ILS turns ON when you set your NAV1 frequency to 112.0 I believe. But if you use the default Acceleration F-18 HUD, then it will not work.

i think it WILL work with the combat hornet and the t-45.
