Well!....
...!
There's a blast from the distant past...
...!
The first time I have been back to Meigs Field since the heady days of FS '98...(FS 2000, and FS 2002)!...
...!
It certainly looks a lot different now, in my latest FS 2004 incarnation!...
...!
No more 8-bit graphics!...
...!
...and I am 14 years older!....

I'm just glad I got to fly out of there once before Daley went on his midnight destruction spree. Great shot of a great place.
It's a shame they destroyed it.

I wheel out my trusty copy of FS '98 every now and again, just to observe the difference between that, and the latest versions of the Sim, (and hardware)...
It didn't really take-off until FS 2002, (FS 2000 was a bit lame....BUT...you did get a wonderful, big, Flight Manual* book with it!).
Happy memories!...
...!
* I regularly use mine for reference, (together with my Pro Pilot '99 Manuals)!

Flightsim did me in.

My first sim was FS 2002... though I remember encountering a flightsim on the ZX81 + B/W monitor back in the mid 80s. Didn't spend much time with it then - it was lacking somehow the 'Wow - I'm flying a Real Plane' factor. Meigs certainly brings back pleasant memories though : )

Do you remember the silly contest we had launching off a sky scraper into Central Park Kevin, that was back in FS2k2 days. What a fun 2 weeks of stupidity we had with that

When it came to doing silly things in in an aeroplane, in the Olden Days...
Combat Flight Simulator 2 (CFS2) often took some beating...
...even now!...
...!
Paul...I love doing silly things...(even in a Flight Simulator!)...

I remember flying through a lot of bridge structures and a lot of loops around bridges.
