'Mirage 2000-5 by Rollus ...  '

Just had a repaint uploaded for this aircraft. We always link to required base files so does anyone know the whereabouts of this plane?

It is no doubt a beauty! I know Roland's previous models ..... However the googled location returns a dead page ....

Unfortunately Pete, I have two bad news about this:
- first, Roland explicitely refused any publication of repaints for his Mirage2000-5. I believe this is written somewhere in his readme files. As a consequence, you should remove any repaint for this bird from the SimV servers.
- then, and that's the worse, Roland has removed the Mirage from download, and he doesn't want it to be available from any other website.

Don't ask me how much I hate these decisions... but they have to be respected.

Thanks for the info...

However we don't publish dependent files without a link to the required file, so this one is not published.

2nd This sounds like a strange guy - makes a great aircraft for all - then keeps it all to himself and maybe a few selected friends. On one hand starts out very generous. Then he changes his mind and withdraws his good act - maybe foolishly after the act of one disrespectful idiot (you know those idiots who complain about freeware! This has happened before ..)

It is a shame what happens to some people in life.

Hi all, This is my very first post. The Rollus Mirage 2000-5 was released to all for a limited time if i remember correctly, i have had it for what seems like years and is still imo one of the best freeware planes i have, it is a shame it was removed from the site i got it from because a lot of people missed a wonderful freeware aircraft

If I remember correctly, Roland had set a website specifically for presenting and downloading the Mirage (and some of his work on the Rafale too). He didn't want it to be uploaded anywhere else, and you had to be registered on his website in order to be able to download.

The problem is, his website was reaching the maximum monthly bandwith limit within 12 or 24 hours only. As a consequence, the website was available only half a day or one day per month, or something like that. So people started to complain about this, and about the absolute "no-repaints" policy. Probably he started getting some hate mail too.

I don't know what exactely convinced him to remove the website and Mirage, but the fact is that this plane cannot be officially found anywhere anymore. And that certainly produces a lot of suction.  Wink
