I am re-enacting John Alcock and Arthur Brown's epic flight over the North Atlantic, with the Vikers Vimy. Unfortunatly I didn't think to take any pictures of the take off, I guess I was too busy trying to get the brick into the air. (Lets just say I had a little trouble clearing a few hills, and houses)
But now that I am in the air over the Atlantic, I can take lots of pictures

I started at dawn, there has been scattered showers for the entire flight so far. I hope it clears up a bit at some point.

Before I get too far over the water I do a last check to make sure everything is in good condition to continue.

The dash is very different from most other planes, but it has eveything a pilot needs. Altimiter, turn indicator, pitch indicator, compass, spedometer, and fuel gauge. And most importantly a clock! (and lots of knobs, switches, and dials!)

Now that I have lost sight of land,

I realize just how HUGE the pond really is!!!

(its almost frightening!)

But I have faith that this aircraft will make it. Shes a beautiful work of art! (but the North Atlantic wind gets really cold when there is nothing protecting you from it. So I keep my aviator goggles on the hole time!

)

I have no idea where I am, the best guess that I have is 250 miles north east east of St Johns. The next time I can be exactly sure, is when I break landfall in Europe! (or Africa

)
Well thats all for now! I will update everyone with a landing once I get there! (if I do get there

)
I hope you enjoy this as much as I am!
