If you mean the chooser gallery it's probably FS.9 aircraft without a supplied thumbnail that are not showing

Danno' go open up your Aircrafts FOLDER,,, go to the aircraft your having problems with not showing up - once there and inside the FOLDER look for the TEXTURE  folder - open it,, there should be a file that says - "thumbnail" and it needs to be in JPG format and somewhat small, not to big,,,, if there is NOT a file that says - Thumbnail - you'll need to take a screen shot of the aircraft and save it to a JPG format,,,, and place it in yout aircrafts TEXTURE folder and rename that photo file exactly to - thumbnail ,,,,,, and presto it'll show up in your aircrafts sim menu .

If a missing thumbnai is the problem, an easy way to generate one is to right click and "save" the image from the download page and save it as "thumbnail.jpg" in the texture folder.  Also, some FS9=>FSX downloads have screenshots in their extracted folders, just grab one of them and reduce the size to about 120 pixles wide, and save it to the texture folder as "thumbnail.jpg"

Another thing that could prevent a FS9 addon from showing up is an incompatable "panel" folder.  A lot of addons "alias" their panel to a default aircraft.  If you have something like a Boeing 737-100 (just grabbing an example) designed for FS9, it's panel.cfg may be aliased to the Boeing 737-400.  If you import that to FSX, it will not see a 737-400 panel, so it goes off and sulks.  You would be able to fix that by editing the panel.cfg by opening the panel.cfg with notepad and changing the "400" to "800", then save the change.

I'm not sure, but I think the same goes for the "sound" folder and sound.cfg, and it's the same fix, if that's the case. (I don't know for sure that a mis-aliased sound would prevent the aircraft from showing or working, but if it did work, it'd be awful quiet.  Tongue

Make sure you're not downloading "texture only" packages, because those don't have any plane inside...

Up is the way to go.
