I'm having trouble installing CumulusX, and WinchX.
I keep getting an error message that says that the program in "configured incorrectly"
anyone have any ideas on how to fix this Huh

I did, but when the sim opened up, the control box wasn't there Huh Huh

How did you install it exactely ? Tell us what you've done, for CumulusX for example.

I copied the "modules" folder into the Main FSX Folder, then did the same for the "sim objects" folder. then after trying the automatic install without success. I then tried the manual install, and it still didn't work.

Well, you say that you first moved the folders to the FSX folder. That's a manual install.
In the FSX\modules\ folder, you then have a CumulusX\ folder, right ?
Do you have a reference to CumulusX stuff both in the EXE.xml and the DLL.xml files (those files are in the same folder than your FSX.cfg file) ?

Yes, mabey I should delet all the cumulusX files and start over (sometimes that works)

Oh I didn't see that.
The EXE.xml was probably created by AICarriers on my computer. This file doesn't exist per default.

It's not a problem. You can create it yourself. Just create a new, empty text file and name it "EXE.xml". Then, copy-paste this coding inside (I have adapted it to your needs, but you'll have to modify the path, as I explained above):

By the way, haven't you installed Aerotow as well ? It requires an entry in that EXE.xml in order to be launched automatically when you start FSX.

Does the EXE.xml have to be a xml file to work. Because for me it's still a txt file Huh

Yes it has to be a xml file.
Are you sure your Windows is showing the file extensions ?
There is an option, which is set by default in Windows, that masks the extension of the files with known filetype. You should deactivate this option.

You have to go in the same screen that you used to show the hidden files, you know, in order to find the FSX.cfg. (you can't find the FSX.cfg when your hidden files and folders are still hidden by the system).

Ok, got it to ask to load the CumulusX.exe file at sim load-up, but soon afterwards CumulusX crashes, any help Huh Huh Huh Huh

Yes, the sim loads, I am asked if I want to load CumulusX, after I say yes and the sim starts, I get an error message from CumulusX saying that it must close

Maybe the problem is in the fact that I do not have any Service Packs installed, It says that it needs the service packs to work.

I suppose you just installed Acceleration on top of FSX directly, right ?

Thanks Chuck, already tried the first one. But it says that it "cannot find the registration key" Huh
I have no clue where to find this (if it is even there).
