Hi Paul...
The sound of the wind passing above, below and all around my aircraft at four thousand feet when the engine has quit, the prop has stopped, I am over water and too far to glide to shore and my rubber ducky and bottle of LAPHROAIG ISLAY SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY are back in the Land Rover.
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

J.G. Wentworth operatic commercials -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN9OKXtzHtE
There are several and they all drive me insane to the point I either mute the TV or change the channel...
"I have a place where dreams are born, And time is never planned. It’s not on any chart, You must find it with your heart."
Albert Einstein - "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."
Martin Luther King Jr. - “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than a sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - “There is nothing worse than aggressive stupidity.”
Mark Twain - “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.”

1. Dogs barking.
2. Children screaming.
3. Reverse mortgage commercials, especially Robert Wagner and Henry Winkler.
4. The guy on the blue phone insurance commercials
5. The ringing in my ears.
Paul, I actually don't mind the helicopters passing over my house. It's rare enough to not be irritating and often enough to be enjoyable. It used to be Huey's, now I think it's mostly Blackhawks.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

In no particular order:
my brother's little online game noises, politicians, the ringing I sometimes get in my ears, people talking during movies, tests, etc., do's barking, my brother, commercials, a lot of music these days, yelling...
That's all I can get off the top of my head, let me think a bit and I'll get you the rest.

I've got to agree with XFalcon750 the 'DON'T SINK' warning on FSX is one of the most annoying noises possible!
Apart from that most noises don't annoy me, even being woke up by barking dogs doesn't bother me that much, at least it means it's not raining outside!

In no particular order:
Any noise my dog makes (especially the barking sneeze noise he makes), my Dad's singing, my Mum's singing, my singing,
the music my dad listens too, the next-door neighbour’s kids, the noises the computer makes, my dad's humming & my humming (unless its Monty Python I'm humming of course).
Thats all I can think of for now.

Let me see, in no particular order, except the top one is number one.
Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas Is You.
Whining children that cannot accept that no means NO!!!!!
Next doors dog barking at the drop of a hat.
Fireworks (bangers mainly) before or after 5th November and before or after 31st December.
Go Compare, Go Compare (close join first with Mariah)
Odd one to describe, but any thing that does the following in the same manner a dropped circular tin lid hits the floor and then dances in a circle, the noise cuts me in two.
Almost the same as above, anything that when put down bobbles back and forth and makes a similar noise to above.
Tony Blair's voice.
And;
A particular co-work when he starts a sentence with, "You know what I think"

Well.
-My sister singing drives me nuts.
-Someone chewing loudly or talking with their mouth full
-That annoying TV show that comes every day I believe it's called the news.
-Alvin And The chipmunks and that
annoying kid
on Youtube that makes loud screechy noises.
-Justin Bieber (I'm not hating I just don't like.)
-Dettol adverts.
The 3/4 of the songs my sister listens to
This list could go on forever
.
This topic has to last
. The possibilities are endless.
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

The sound that most annoys me is the whooping that seems mandatory for theatre audiences nowadays. I've even noticed this awful habit creeping into classical concerts.
I believe this started some years ago when audiences of recorded TV shows were encouraged to whoop instead of whistling to prevent overloading the sound equipment. At least, that's what the stage manager told us when we were part of the captive audience to some obscure TV show during a visit to a film studio in Florida.

Ha ha, I had a college prof long ago who would put his hands in his pockets and jingle his change while lecturing. Not sure which was more annoying, his change jingling or his lectures, tho.
To have to listen to that 3x a week for 4 months. Chee.
And as for whooping audiences, yeah, there oughta be a law.
And hey, what about whatever music they play at the food store? Whoa, are we in a dance hall here? I'm tryin' to think food.
I tried demanding equal time by suggesting a little Black Sabbath, but noooo.
