Hi all,

So I've just started playing FSX again. I didn't have a PC that could run the game for a number of years, but have just finished building a new rig which I THOUGHT would have been able to play the game pretty smoothly, but it's not really turned out that way.

My current spec is i3 2100, 2 x HD 5770's, 8Gb 1300Mhz RAM, 750W PSU, 1Tb Samsung F3 HDD.

I thought the spec would have been able to run the game pretty smoothly, which it does if I have the settings low enough, but it was annoying me having to turn the sliders down. Especially the weather ones!! Also the game won't support my Crossfired 5770's, so time to upgrade to one more modern GPU.

I have pretty much decided on the i5 2500k as my new CPU. I can return the i3 and get a decent price for the i5. I need to decide on the GPU though.

There are a few 5870's at decent prices that take my interest. So my decision for the GPU lies between a 5870, a 6870 or a 560 Ti.

Please help me decide guys! As far as I read the Nvidia cards are better for FSX so maybe hat would be the way to go? I just want to run the game as fast as I can with as much detail as possible. With my current setup it's the heavy weather that really kills my FPS.

Thanks guys.

I should add also that my budget is around the £150 mark. Would a 560 be good enough as this is obviously slightly cheaper than the 560 Ti?
