I think this is the sort of thing you're supposed to report to Microsoft. They should be able to come up with a fix.

Uninstall the existing drivers Alex and then download the latest release for your card from the Creative site. A lot of graphics drivers were updated for SP3 Wink

If you go into Control Panel, go to System (use classic view) and then into Hardware and then click on Device Manager.
Under the Display Adapters what does it say?

Alex...

If you are still using your lovely old PCI Creative Soundblaster Live! 1024 Sound Card, as you know there were no drivers issued for it after Win '98.

I've still got mine, but what I had to do in the end, was to buy a cheap £25 PCI Sound Card that was recognised by the latest version of Windows, and the latest Drivers (came with a Driver CD)!

Alternatively, can you not use the Sound Chip on your Motherboard?....Sockets at the rear...select it in BIOS...!

I have the choice of either using the Sound Card, (with its useful 15-Pin Game Socket), or the on-board Sound Chip.

Choices!

Paul... Cheesy...!

P.S...I think you led me to find a Site for the drivers for Win XP which I used for my previous Win XP... (nothing for Win 7!).

Dell Dimension 5000 BTX Tower. Win7 Home Edition, 32 Bit. Intel Pentium 4, dual 2.8 GHz. 2.5GB RAM, nVidia GF 9500GT 1GB. SATA 500GB + 80GB. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Micronet ADSL Modem only. Saitek Cyborg Evo Force. FS 2004 + FSX. Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower...Motor Bikes. Gas Cooker... and lots of musical instruments!.... ...!
Yamaha MO6,MM6,DX7,DX11,DX21,DX100,MK100,EMT10,PSR400,PSS780,Roland GW-8L v2,TR505,Casio MT-205,Korg CX3v2 dual manual,+ Leslie 760,M-Audio Prokeys88,KeyRig,Cubase,Keyfax4,Guitars,Orchestral,Baroque,Renaissance,Medieval Instruments.

Sorry about that Alex, I had a bit of a brain fart last night and got fixated on graphics rather than audio cards. Don't know what happened there, major malfunction of the brain cell.
Many apologies Embarrassed
