Read all about it! Grin

New computer...reinstalled FSX and a few addons... and did a few practice nav flights over the default but still awesome Friday Harbour area to try and get back into things after 2 years away...sadly with no Orbx product to beautify it but it's still a flier's paradise - it's got almost everything. Water. Mountains. Cities and countryside. A multitude of airports of every size. Lots of VORs and stuff...I love flying round there. Here are a few shots from the last 10 days.

I guess I'll be posting screenshots irregularly in SimV again for a while... though the days of downloading a different scenery and aircraft every evening and striving to take some great screenshots are long gone. I see a lot of new names, a few old ones... nice to see you all anyway  Smiley

Rod Machado may be a world famous instructor and humorist but his ILS lesson left a lot to be desired... after lurching and meandering through half of my first ILS approach in 2 years at Boeing Field I was marvelling at his tolerance. Then I got my act together and the second half of the trip down was really 'on the ball'... I was in the zone floating dreamlike down the middle of the glideslope/localiser... nice touchdown not much beyond the numbers and on the centre line before gently taxiing towards the nearest exit, expecting a virtual pat on the back... and all Rod had to say was ''Go left. You're too far right. Go up." Or somesuch. Okay I thought... so I taxied nicely down the centreline of the runway all the way to the end hoping that would satisfy him and...

Have a good weekend guys!!

I've read so much bad things about Rob's lessons that in the end, I've never tried them  Grin

Some of those screens are really impressive I have to say. I especially enjoy the second one, because of the excellent color palette in it. Same applies to the second-to-last, which has not only beautifull colors, but also a fantastic background. That distant runway in the dark fog, coupled with the dark terrain shapes around, is really producing and excellent atmospheric effect, that adds a lot to the overall magic. Great job !

Thanks guys! I found the written intros to Rob's lessons useful and mostly just set the plane up according to the task but then flew the lessons 'unaided' by Rob's TLC  Grin

I've finally got a decent comp that can take good screenshots but now the problem is the monitor... it's max resolution is 1280 and with many planes it gives me the jaggies something awful. There's always something...
